Not that I'm Pagan but today is Beltane. The sun is rising now. However, beyond the fertility rites of my ancestors in my own mind this is when Summer begins. Many attribute the solstice for that but that's like the peak for me. It's like the opposite of Samhain. I've only lived on a farm for a few years as a kid, but I think I've experienced enough to know the mindset of people whose life revolves around agriculture. Plus being an occultist to manipulate subtle energies helps. According to my understanding that's really what being Pagan is even when in ancient Rome where the word meant those who worshipped uncivilized divinities. So in honor of my ancestors I perform this rite. Charging the air with lovemaking. Preferably in your own hearth away from everyone else.
